Project “The symbol of a man in a city on a river”

The project combines the rhythmic minimalism of the interior with custom-made furniture and fittings, while a beautiful panoramic view extends the flat towards the fascinating Volga River.

A window on the Volga in Samara
The view of the vast expanse of the Volga is the feature around which the design of a large flat was elaborated: in the Virstak Studio’s idea, rhythm punctuates the interior thanks to a grid of lines and planes reflecting the river horizon, the streets and the houses of the Russian city, where theVolga and Samara rivers converge.
“The symbol of a man in a city on a river” is a project that, in realising the clients’ wishes, was developed with a layout similar to a miniature city, with “neighbourhoods” for children and others for adults, as well as a large central square: the living room.
The 160-square-metre flat faces west and the setting sun, thanks to the panoramic windows, illuminates it with a warm, soft pink light. The different types of wood, including walls, ceilings, furniture and doors with different finishes, further emphasise the warm tone required by the family as a basis for customising the minimalist interior with photographs, artwork and personal objects.
The Timeless handles in black finish stand out on the floor-to-ceiling doors. A choice that reflects the designers’ intention to use objects with a minimalist design and yet a special character.

The Timeless collection, designed by Marco Pisati, is now an icon of Dnd: a strong sign, given by a circle and a line that intersect with precision.
The designers
Designers Valeria Fil and Evgenia Neliubina are the two souls of the Virstak Design studio, based in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Their aim is to design interiors that are harmonious and closely connected to their surroundings. They love to focus on the rhythm of spaces and complement objective reality with a sense of art and design.
